Meet our 2017 Art of Fashion Co-Chairs

MAGGIE BOBILEFF

Born and raised in Switzerland, Maggie attended school in the Swiss town of Herisau. Her love of fashion and first memories are reconstructing her mother’s old clothes with her sister, snipping and sewing old fabrics into new designs and also using fabrics and design techniques that she would later study at college.

Maggie attended trade school for five years in Switzerland, and was immersed in design, construction, textiles and retail management. This education prepared her for the future in fashion and retail sales. In her early twenty’s, Maggie travelled around Europe to Munich, Milan, Paris and Rome and met with all the great designers such as Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, and Gianfranco Ferré on her buying trips.

In 1997 Maggie moved from Switzerland to San Diego and married Gary Bobileff, the world famous Ferrari and Lamborghini restorer and lives in Rancho Santa Fe with son Philippe.

In 2005 she opened her first men’s store, Mister B, and a few years later, she opened Maggie B for ladies. She inspired men and women to try something new, something bold, and dare to be fabulously well dressed in casual San Diego.

Maggie likes to donate her time and energy to charities, and has served on The Country Friends Board of Directors for the last eight years and on the Art of Fashion committee for nine years. Maggie is very excited and honored to chair the Art of Fashion on September 14th, 2017.

DENISE HUG

A native Californian and resident of Rancho Santa Fe for over 30 years, Denise is married to Bertrand, her husband of 42 years. Together they own two of San Diego’s best restaurants: the iconic Mister A’s downtown and Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe, named one of the top 25 restaurants in the nation.

Denise and Bertrand have been very active in the community over the years, supporting several charities like Casa de Amparo, Children’s Hospital, The Old Globe, the Police Foundation, Kids Korps and many others via receptions and sponsored dinners. Last but not least, Mille Fleurs has hosted several Country Friends fund raising parties.

Denise has quite a few leisure pursuits. She enjoys cruising and has traveled the world with her husband and friends. She enjoys golf as a member of the Del Mar Country Club, skiing, exercising several times a week and going on daily walks with her rescue dogs Sophie and Henry. Denise loves the world of fashion, having done quite a bit of modeling over the years especially in her late teens and twenties. She is especially honored to co-chair the 2017 Country Friends Art of Fashion with her good friend, Maggie, and to be part of such a dedicated group of people who have been instrumental in making this event so special for so many years.[/column]
